Zambia
Raw. Compact. Dense. Zambia is a last bastion of true wilderness.
Be intrepid. Deep in the bush in unfenced camps where game and prey wander, set up camp, swap tales, and sleep beneath the stars. From its wide, placid rivers and raging rapids, to teeming national parks where walking safaris are among the best on earth, spend hours or even days adventuring without another soul in sight.
Experiences
Get your hiking boots on for an epic walking safari, from a few spine tingling hours to multi-day bush walking adventures with private guides and mobile safari camps; take private safaris by 4x4 or on horse-back; dance to the beat of the drums after dinner on the edge of Victoria Falls; career down the mighty Zambezi’s 23 whitewater rapids between sheer black cliffs; hover over the Zambezi Gorge and waterfalls in a helicopter or microlight; sleep in a mobile camp under the stars by the falls; cast your line, sports fishing for tiger fish; take a languorous river safari to spot huge crocodiles.
Where to Stay
Bespoke camps set-up daily; luxury safari lodges; secluded bush villas.
When to Go
From December to March most camps close and the rain is ceaseless. Aim for June to October for warm climes and clear skies, though September and October are hot. The falls are most impressive between February and June, but if you want to dip into Devil’s Pool on the edge of the falls, visit during the drier second half of the year.
